Annie Jan, LMHC, M.S.
Hey, I’m Annie! (she/her/hers)
I am a NYS licensed Mental Health Counselor who offers interactive, collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy. I have many years of clinical experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds that are struggling with anxiety, workplace or academic stress, self-image issues, major life transitions, grief and trauma. I received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Queens College. I am very passionate about my work with an emphasis on supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ populations.
When meeting with me you’ll discover a warm and empathetic therapist and human being. I am curious and dedicated to getting to know you as a unique individual with your own perspectives and experiences. I tailor my approach to create an affirming, supportive and non-judgmental space to fit your needs. One of my top priorities is for you to feel safe in the therapeutic environment. I work diligently to foster a therapeutic space for you to feel empowered to face the unique challenges that you experience. I believe therapy should be interactive and collaborative in ways that support the development of your personal insights in order to come up with practical and creative coping skills to help you live a more fulfilled and authentic life. Additionally, my approach is relational and informed by a variety of clinical perspectives including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy with an emphasis on self-compassion and tailoring treatment to your personal goals and strengths.
I can’t wait to work with you!
