Chelsea Stieglitz, LCAT
Hi, my name is Chelsea! (she/her/hers)
I am a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Registered Board Certified Art Therapist, LCAT ATR-BC. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from The Pennsylvania State University. After attending undergrad, I pursued and received my Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapy Counseling from Hofstra University. Throughout my career, I have developed experience working to meet the individual needs of children, teens, and adults of varying abilities.
It can be challenging to verbalize our emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Talking alone may feel overwhelming or difficult. When talking is too difficult, my goal is to have you creatively express your feelings and then reflect on your work in a safe space. This process is utilized to assist you in gaining your own insight on how to regulate your emotions. Through various artistic modalities, such as photography, drawing/painting, movement, journaling, and much more, I can help guide you in finding your own voice and confidence. But, don’t worry! Even those who do not consider themselves to be an artist in any capacity have gained insight into their emotions and have learned coping skills through creative expression. By facilitating a holistic and person-centered approach that combines talk and creative expression I plan to be your guide as you find yourself and begin to heal on your journey.
Utilizing the mind-body connection can help you explore physical sensations as they correlate to your thoughts. Feelings of anxiety, depression, or anger can be stored in our bodies and present as physical symptoms. It is important to be aware of this connection as a holistic healer in order to treat the whole person and not just a symptom or diagnosis. That is why I strive to help you as a whole, and utilize the mind-body connection throughout my practice. Because everyone is unique, I will meet you where you are at and work diligently to help guide, empower, and be there for you throughout your healing journey.
