Lena Pinzon MHC-LP, M.S.Ed.
Hi there! I’m Lena! (she/her/hers)
I’m a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Counselor who completed her Master’s at St. John’s University. I believe in a collaborative approach that respects personal values and I trust the human being sitting across from me to know themselves best. I work with adults, adolescents and children and I specialize in working individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I currently work with diverse clientele experiencing a variety of mental health issues including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, stress management, relationship issues and trauma. I have four years of experience working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and one year of experience working with adults with substance abuse disorders.
I implement multiple modalities including Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach is holistic, person-centered, and mind-body connection focused. I work to create an environment for you to feel safe to explore the mind-body connection in order to connect to deeper parts of yourself. My aim is to help you feel peaceful even as you paddle through rough waters. I believe that you have the strength, resilience and resources within yourself that you may not even know is there yet to achieve healing and wholeness and I will be right alongside you, paddle in hand!
Art is an important part of my own self-care and something I utilize in sessions with children and adults who are open to exploring emotional processes through the creative connection. Combined with talk therapy, creative arts modalities can help people process strong emotions, gain personal insight, and decrease stress.
